When one of your best friends in the whole world gets married you really don’t want to work at the wedding. But I knew I wanted to take some photos. So at Jeremy’s wedding I just got to be a part of the day. I ran errands with Jeremy and the groomsmen and watched behind the scenes hoopla as the pieces came into place. I caught up with old friends. At the bachelor party we played a late-night ultimate frisbee match on the shores of Lake Michigan after an urban hike and some great wine. On the morning of the day we admired Jeremy’s REI belt, his man-bun and the fantastic bow ties he gave us all. We laughed, we ate, and we watched beautiful people become family. At the wedding dinner I was gifted with the chance to give a speech and wish Jeremy and Carolin a full life together. But my favorite part of the weekend was probably stealing the two of them away after the ceremony for some photo time in Humboldt park. It was richly fulfilling to take in the joy they experience in each others’ presence and capture it in a few photos. In their laughter, in their conversation, and in the moments of silence together we celebrated love. This first image was shot after a fantastic rehearsal dinner where we got a great view of the city. The rest are from the wedding day.
Love you brother. So happy for you both.
