Stephanie & Johannes Wedding Mini-Session, San Francisco Presidio

Every now and then I get to shoot people who have been friends of mine long before I was a wedding photographer. Steph and Johannes have been special friends to my wife since we moved to the city, and they actually volunteered several years ago to be my very first engagement session couple. I attended their wedding in New Jersey happily as a guest with my wife (which almost never happens and was a special treat). But we still wanted a chance to shoot a few portraits of them back in San Francisco and on a sunny day in the Presidio we got to do just that. We had a ton of fun laughing through the park together and ended up at the evening having a wonderful evening together for some wonderful French food and wine at Chapeau. Thanks you two, Heather and I are so grateful for your friendship.

I’m pretty sure in the shot below they could pass as J. Crew models. And for the record tossing the bouquet 10 yards was not my idea :)

Lindsey and Alex’s Engagement, Marin CA

Here’s a few of my favorite images of a beautiful afternoon with Alex and Lindsey. In the Bay Area we so rarely get sunsets without fog and wind. But on this day in the Marin headlands couldn’t have been any more perfect. I love the way we got to shoot with the magical light of the sunset.

Gina & Ryan’s River Mill Wedding, French Camp CA

It feels like I’ve been looking forward to Gina and Ryan’s wedding for a long time. From our time we spent together during their Christmas engagement shoot I knew that they would be full of laughter and love throughout the day. In fact, it felt like I didn’t take a single picture of them all day when they’re weren’t beaming. I’m convinced that the most photogenic people are those who are happy, and in that vein they might as well have been supermodels. Born and raised in Stockton, they wanted to get married close to home, and they couldn’t have picked a more gorgeous location than the River Mill. It was a joy to spend the day with them and their wonderful friends and family. I loved every minute.

Nicolia and Mike’s Engagement Session, Oakland CA

I’ve been looking forward to taking Mike and Nicolia’s engagement pictures from the moment I met them. They are authentic people, so full of life, love, and happiness together and I hope these images share just a little piece of the love they have for each other. I find it perfect that we shot just down the road from their house at Lake Merritt, before we headed over to the Oakland Rose Garden and ended up right where they will be getting married later this year in the gorgeous gardens of Piedmont Community Hall.
