amy and norbert’s rodeo beach engagement session, the marin headlands

After having spent a month in Peru its wonderful to be back home, and I feel all the more grateful for my life and work here in San Francisco. Of course San Francisco may not get snow, but it sure does get a lot of fog. The day we shot was freezing (ok, not literally, just really, really cold and gray). In my mind it is a testament to how wonderful a couple Amy and Norbert are to be able to laugh their way through the afternoon, even as their noses turned red, and their hands began to lose feeling in their fingers. In any weather the Marin headlands are one of the most beautiful places in Northern California, and we had a blast wandering the rocks, bunkers, and vegetation of Rodeo beach. Thanks for being such great sports guys. I think it was worth it, and hope you do too. Enjoy!

Chicago Styled Fashion Shoot… Style Me Pretty Preview

I had a blast flying out to Chicago and shooting a stylized gold vintage wedding fashion shoot for Events by Willow a little while back. The whole shoot will be featured on Style Me Pretty in the next few weeks. But here’s a little preview…

Stay tuned for the Style Me Pretty Feature, and have a wonderful Christmas!

Congratulations Matthias!

Nice!!! Can’t wait to see you on SMP homie. Congrats!

This is so beautiful! Can’t wait to see the whole footage and photographs! You Rock!

Gina and Ryan’s Downtown Stockton Engagement Session (With Christmas Lights), Stockton CA

When Gina and I were conversing about her engagement session it became very clear that she loves her home city of Stockton and loves Christmas and Christmas lights. So we pretty much planned their shoot around those two elements. From the old buildings to the beautiful leaves of the fall, Stockton was really a perfect place to shoot. And when we got to her backyard which she had filled with Christmas lights we had our own little winter wonderland. Of course the most fun for me was to spend some time with a super-fun couple and get to know them together. Next April can’t come soon enough!  In the meantime, welcome to Christmas and the holidays!

Beautiful session. The last ones with the lights: what a great idea. ell done. Congrats.

Fantastic session, Matt:)

Love the rustic images in front of the storage shed. Great texture!

Rancho San Antonio Engagement Session Natalie & J.R., Los Altos CA

I’m so excited to share with everyone J.R. and Natalie’s engagement session today! We spent the afternoon laughing and wandering around the gorgeous Rancho San Antonio open preserve together. Sometimes my job really doesn’t feel like work at all. On this day I just felt like I was lucky to be making new friends, and having fun with a camera in a beautiful place with beautiful people. Their cats even made an appearance! They were pretty bewildered to find themselves in the middle of a park, rather than curled up at home, but I think it was worth it. I’m pretty thrilled to be shooting J.R. and Natalie’s wedding next year, and love the really fun dynamic they have together. Hopefully some of the joy they have together can be seen in the following images. Enjoy!
