Richard & Anna, La Costanera Beach Wedding, Montara CA

Capturing emotions, laughter, and the little details that make a wedding unique fills me with joy. At Richard and Anna’s wedding there was an abundant supply of each of these. The door games to bring to bring Anna out of hiding into Richard’s arms were priceless. Kudos goes to the ladies for coming up with such creative ideas and even bigger praise goes to Richard’s groomsmen who obviously care about him enough to eat cheese and crackers spiked with wasabi, contort their bodies into knots, and transfer food down the line with only their lips. I love beach weddings and everything was beautiful on Montara Beach where Anna and Richard wed. After an afternoon on the beach what better way to end the day but with dancing, La Costanera’s Peruvian ceviche and cuisine, and cigars. Let’s just say it was really hard for me to leave this party. Deep thanks to Richard and Anna for allowing me to be part of such a beautiful day.

You’re just amazing. Period. You capture emotion so well, and your composition is always so interesting. This is what wedding photography should look like :)

Mia and Alvin at Domaine Carneros, Napa Engagement Photography

Every day is a good day when you’re a photographer in wine country with some sunshine. With Mia and Alvin’s wedding just a few weeks away, we were all excited to shoot their engagement session. From start to finish we laughed a lot, enjoyed some fantastic weather, and spent time in my favorite part of the world- California wine country. We first shot for a little while at Domaine Carneros in Napa and then headed over to some railroad tracks and an abandoned field I saw on the way over to the winery in Sonoma. The light was  magical in a way that only California can be and we made the most of it. I’m super excited for their wedding coming up soon!

Love the variety of framing and moods to the images. All the images are so consistently beautiful.

Gillian & Fabrizio’s Santa Clara Mission Wedding, Santa Clara CA

Arriving at Gillian and Fabrizio’s wedding was like showing up to spend the day hanging out with two friends I hadn’t seen for a while. Ever since we first hung out I knew we would have a blast together. It’s hard to explain in words how much fun it was to be at their wedding. What I can say is that their wedding was held on my birthday, and I can honestly say I couldn’t think of a better way to spend the day. In fact, I told my wife this the night before the wedding. I loved that every few minutes was punctuated by a heartfelt laugh. I loved the relaxed nature of the day and the joy of friends and family. I loved that Fabrizio had a grin on his face that stretched a mile. I loved that Gillian freed her inner supermodel and allowed me to take some of the most gorgeous bridal portraits of my career. I loved the flowers, the architecture, and the meaningfulness of the Santa Clara Mission, on the campus of Santa Clara University where Fabrizio and Gillian fell in love. I loved Gillian’s attention to details. I loved the Italian music that filled the reception hall. And now I love that I get to share just a few of the hundreds of gorgeous images I have from their wedding.

Thanks to the ever talented Josh Gruetzmacher for coming along for the day and shooting the lights out. Among others, this last image is his.

Refined wedding photographs!

I have the pleasure of sharing with you our feature of Elise and Patrick’s gorgeous Maui wedding on Destination I Do Magazine’s Blog today. Elise and Patrick planned such an amazingly beautiful wedding with lots of magical little details and the perfect setting at the Olowalu Plantation House. One of the things I love most about being a photographer is that I get to know some amazing people at a really special time in their lives. Travelling to Maui was a sheer joy and it was really fun to work with Elise on this feature and hear even more about the thought and depth that went into all the wedding plans.
