Trentadue Vineyards Wedding, Jess & Tommy

The day was magical, and I had a pretty good idea coming into it that it would be. Over the course of the last several months I’ve had the fantastic pleasure of getting to know two people that really are meant to be. They’ve known each other since they were five, playing in the same parks and going to school together in Los Altos, CA. And when they finally realized that their deep friendship was more than coincidence magic entered. This magic came to fruition on their wedding day at Trentadue Vineyards in Geyserville. From the laughter, hugs, toasts, and celebration it was obvious that it was as if all their friends and family finally  officially and legally became the family they already were. They spent the weekend hanging out in wine country in some gorgeous homes and celebrating Jess and Tommy.  Apart, they are each people that are a joy to know. Together they complement each other’s strengths and are one of the most fun and sweet couples you could have as friends.

While the sun poured down from above and sweat rolled down our faces and filled our shirts they were married amidst the vineyards and rolling hills that typify Northern California. Everything at Trentadue was gorgeous. Every detail in the reception hall: the food, the flowers and decorations, the cake, and even the “Bride and Groom” signs Jess painted herself were all perfect. We even were given a full moon, which allowed us to shoot some of my favorite portraits of the day. With gratitude I now share with you a few of my favorite images. Thanks also to Amanda for joining me for the day.

Jess & Tom

We love these so much! Thank you so much for being a part of our day. We had the most amazing time ever and are so happy that you captured everything so perfectly. Can’t wait to see more!

Your colors are beautiful and your images told the story of the wedding day so well.

Ainsley House and Villa Ragusa Wedding, Matt & Allison

I am excited today to share some images from Matt & Allison’s wedding at the historic Ainsley House in Campbell. It has been a beautiful gift to get to know them over the last several months, and I knew from their engagement session that we’d have a blast on their wedding day. What do peacock feathers, boxing gloves, and California sunshine have in common? You’re about to see. One of my favorite moments from the day include Matt’s reaction to seeing Allison for the first time. He couldn’t stop smiling and telling people “this is my wife!” as they passed by in the park. Another great moment developed as Matt and Allison faced off with boxing gloves as a part of their grand entrance. Creativity, joy, great friends and a rockin’ party made this a perfect day. Enjoy.

Anna & Richard’s Cavallo Point Engagement Session, Sausalito CA

Richard likes to tell the story, “So a while back Anna and I decided to have a weekend away. I planned our destination and smiled as she packed snacks for a long road-trip.”  He watched her face as she wondered why they exited just over the Golden Gate Bridge. What Anna also didn’t know was that while they spent the weekend hanging out at the beautiful Cavallo Point Hotel and Spa, Richard had an even more wonderful surprise. Just up the street from the Golden Gate Bridge, in one of the most beautiful locations in the world, Richard asked Anna if she would be his bride. She said yes, and it’s with great pleasure that we returned to this spot to shoot their engagement session. I can’t wait for their wedding in September!

Lily & Chia Saun’s Wedding, Intercontinental Hotel Monterey, CA

There is so much to love about Lily and Chia Saun’s wedding. Getting married in downtown Monterey right above the ocean is pretty spectacular, and it was clear from the get-go that their entourage knew what it meant to be the bridal-PARTY! I immediately felt welcomed by everyone. From Lily’s dress with fantastic pockets (who doesn’t want pockets?), and stunningly glitzy Alexander McQueen shoes, to Chia Saun’s monogrammed shirt, suit, and Rolex Daytona they were styling.

Some of my favorite moments of the day included the Chinese door games (think- guys passing each other an orange with only their necks), the look on Lily’s face as Chia Saun saw her for the first time, tears of laughter during their vows, and Chia Saun’s thank you address in which everyone felt both the love he has for his bride and the way together they approached their own wedding day as a chance to celebrate the gratitude he and Lily have for their friends and family.

We had a great time shooting on the beach in some soft light and one of my favorite portraits of the year in the first shot I share below.  Thank you both for trusting me with such a beautiful day!

I would like to especially thank Lily Yip who did a fantastic job shooting and assisting me throughout the day.
