In the heart of Napa wine country Emily and Michael orchestrated a unique and seriously stunning event. Yountville is one of my favorite places in the world, and I couldn’t think of a better venue for the two of them to tie their lives together. Their love of food and wine ran as a beautiful theme throughout the celebration. The day began and ended at the luxurious Bardessono Hotel and Spa Wedding where the lush gardens and modern architecture perfectly framed their festivities. The outdoor evening dinner at Thomas Keller’s Ad Hoc was a special treat for everyone and a perfect way to enjoy the summer evening in wine country. Sunset toasts were followed by a joyful evening enjoying s’mores, dancing, and a specially curated wine tasting of rare French and California wines. Great memories!
They say you can choose your friend but you can’t choose your family. Well, if I could choose to gain another family it would be the Costas. Really. I’m serious. Having been present for the last three sister’s weddings, and spent countless hours observing them at these weddings, and as I’ve edited through their images I have been over and over struck by how pure and true their love is for each other. From the tears that so quickly bubble up when they feel joy for each other’s happiness, to the way they welcome each other’s friends and extended families with open arms and generous hospitality into their community, the affection is palpable. Stephanie and Dave’s wedding at Ironstone was a day that I’ll never forget. It truly was a beautiful celebration of the love that extends deeply and richly from the lovely Dick and Madeleine all the way down to the youngest cousins. I hope that I have captured just a little glimpse of this joy in the following images and that your heart might now grow just a little bit bigger for sharing it.
Driving up to Napa on the morning of Brandi and Charles wedding, the clouds hung heavy over the vineyards of Carneros. But soon the sunshine burst through its barrier and poured onto what became a fantastic January day. The sky overhead was certainly matched by the look on Brandi and Charles’s faces during their first look and they continued to glow from ceremony through to the final dance . On this day we were able to witness the wedding of two beautiful people, inside and out. All day I watched Charles, ever the man of class, beam as his wife filled the air with laughter and joy. I’m grateful to them and grateful to all those who made this day happen. The amazing Ann Thai of LUX Premier Events may be the hardest working person in the wedding industry and she brought together so many beautiful details while the staff of the Carneros Inn outdid themselves. Enjoy a few of my favorite images!
It is with a thankful heart that I get to share with you these images of two happy, totally in love, beautiful people. Steph and Dave wanted a fall engagement session in wine country, and after a week of much needed rain Napa delivered beautifully. The Hess and Andretti wineries were generous in allowing us to use their space and we had a blast traipsing around their properties and through a little mud in their vineyards. Their dog, Scrappy has been an important part of their relationship since day one, so it was great to have his curious face and gregarious personality join the shoot. Having already shot Steph’s two sister’s weddings, I am absolutely thrilled for the chance to be at one more of their awesome parties. Happy Thanksgiving to all!
