Alison & Cornelius Golden Gate Club Wedding, San Francisco

Laughter and light. I find magic in them both, and on the day of Alison and Cornelius’ wedding the air was filled with the beauty of each. As I went through Alison and Cornelius’ images after the wedding, the one thing that continued to emerge as a theme was the joy they have in each other’s presence. May the images I share here serve as a celebration of their laughter together and the pleasure they now have in knowing they will share the rest of their lives together.

Jane and George’s Wedding at the Bardessono, Yountville Napa

In the last month I have photographed some of my life’s favorite weddings. One of them was at the Bardessono up in Yountville, where the staff’s service is immaculate, the food is divine, and the hotel, spa, and restaurant itself is pristine. It also happens to be right next to my favorite Napa winery, Jessup Cellars.  Put simply, I love this place! But the real reason I fell in love with Bardessono on this day was the couple that inspired me from the moment I set foot on the property. Jane and George. In words its hard to explain when two people just fit like milk and chocolate sauce. It was a joy to spend my day watching them, and being a small part of their day as we photographed, laughed, and watched their friends and family shower them with love. Let’s just say I think tears of joy are one of the most beautiful things you can behold as a person. And there were many this day.

Special thanks also to my friend and fellow photographer, Kevin Meynell who joined me for the day.

Extra thanks to Jamie Gansler of Bardessono, who made the day run like a dream.

Lily & Chia-Saun’s Fort Point Engagement Session

For Lily and Chia-Saun’s engagement session we wanted to shoot somewhere where we could get a classic San Francisco feel, while at the same time shooting around some unique architecture. Fort Point was the perfect place for this. It was built as the Bay’s first line of defense during the Civil War, long before their was the Golden Gate bridge above it. I love the way we were able to utilize the old brick and the light that streams through the space from funky angles. We also got to headed up to Potrero Hill for some fun shots of the city to close the day off.

The blog looks superb! I love the images with the city skyline in the background. I also enjoy the third image…very creative and artistic! I’m married to the best photographer in the whole world! You’re my favorite!

The new blog looks awesome!!! Love these photos too!

Jess and Tom’s Engagement Session, Los Altos CA

It’s funny how things fall together sometimes. The day we shot Tom and Jess’s engagement session was one of those days. While we had e-mailed back and forth about stylizing their shoot, nothing seemed to pop out at us, so we figured we’d keep it uncluttered and just spend the afternoon hanging around in Los Altos and see what we found. One of the beautiful things about Tom and Jess’s story is that they have known each other since they were kids.  Growing up with someone, you don’t necessarily plan on marrying them, right? And they didn’t either. But then something changed for Tom, and he realized that Jess would one day be his bride. She didn’t catch on immediately, but after a couple double-takes here they are.  And a more perfect couple I have not met.

So back to the afternoon… What better way to spend our session than shooting where they hung out as kids! We walked around the downtown, played in the creek where they hung out as tykes, and then ended up in an open field with a beautiful oak tree as a backdrop. What can I say, it was meant to be.

Jess is going to be an absolutely gorgeous bride, I can’t wait to photograph her in a wedding dress!
There were some parts of me that really wanted to post this entire session in black and white. Above and below are some of my favorites.
